Central Park is a large public, urban park in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. With about twenty-five million visitors annually, Central Park is the most visited city park in the United States and its appearance in many movies and television shows has made it among the most famous city parks in the world. It is run by the Central Park Conservancy, a private, not-for-profit organization that manages the park under a contract with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
Central Park is bordered on the north by West 110th Street, on the west by Central Park West, on the south by West 59th Street, and on the east by Fifth Avenue. Along the park's borders, these streets are usually referred to as Central Park North, Central Park West, and Central Park South, respectively. (Fifth Avenue retains its name along the eastern border.)
The park was designed by landscape designer Frederick Law Olmsted and architect Calvert Vaux. While much of the park looks natural, it is in fact almost entirely landscaped.

The park was designed by landscape designer Frederick Law Olmsted and architect Calvert Vaux. While much of the park looks natural, it is in fact almost entirely landscaped. It contains several natural-seeming lakes and ponds, extensive walking tracks, two ice-skating rinks, the Central Park Zoo, the Central Park Conservatory Garden, a wildlife sanctuary, a large area of natural woods, a 106 acre billion gallon reservoir, an outdoor amphitheater which hosts the Shakespeare in the Park summer festival, and grassy areas used for informal or team sports or set aside as quiet areas, as well as playground enclosures for children.
The park is an oasis for migrating birds, and thus is popular with bird watchers. The 6-miles (10 km) of drives circling the park are popular with joggers, bicyclists and inline skaters, especially on weekends and in the evenings after 7:00 p.m., when automobile traffic is banned.

When in Rome...or in this case, NYC...the word is fast-paced. This trip goes at a good clip where you'll do lots of walking but by the time you leave, you'll have seen & experienced a lot that New York has to offer.

Enjoy having the time to see NYC's highlights. The pace in New York runs faster than most other states, so allow 11 days to explore, returning each evening at your Upper West Side Studio accommodations.

NY has so much great eating that it's worth balancing your diet with some great walking - and central park is a lovely, really lovely spot in the middle of the city. Lots of joggers - really quite funny.

it's so beautiful here! It's bigger than it seems, and you can find places to either be secluded or be in a group of people and have fun! I love how green it is. simply wonderful!

Had a wonderful carriage ride through the park at dusk during the holiday season! No need to wait in line. Catch a horse drawn carriage on the lower east side. $37 for 1/2 an hour. Well worth the cost. It was a beautiful night!

Oh, so worth it! I went in the winter/spring, so it was very different to see it with all the trees so leafless...it's a classic NYC experience! Also, the horse-drawn carriage rides are a great way to get a better feel of the park.
