Some vacations can be surprisingly cheap... and yet, these are often the ones that stand out, perhaps because you relied on each other for entertainment rather than others.
Some budget tips:
- Start your vacation on a Sunday, return Friday (hotel rates are significantly less expensive on those days).
- If your vacation is longer than 6 days, consider staying in motels/hotels Sun-Thur, then check into a campground for the weekend.
- Even though it might cost a bit more, get a room with a kitchenette. The money you save making your own breakfast, lunches, & dinners more than outweighs the additional cost to the room.
- Share a house with another family. You can easily get a 3 or 4 bedroom house for a week, split the cost & it only runs you $50-$75 per day...for an entire house!
- Sandwich each paid excursion (like the movies) between two free activities (like hiking in the woods, or playing on the beach).
Where can you go for a cheap price? What are some great, yet affordable vacations? Where can you get the most bang for your buck? Below are some
