This is a great family vacation starting you out in historic Williamsburg for 2 days, then 2 days in lovely Virginia Beach, and the last day in Norfolk. Williamsburg, VA is a Top Summer Family Destination! I know, I know, kids hear the words, "history, culture" & their mouths begin to droop & their eyes get that vacant look, BUT...this is one of those rare places where they can soak up the history AND soak up some fun in the sun! Not to mention a haunted dinner theater, miniature golf, an adventure cruise, a water-park and so much more. So yes, Williamsburg is 18th century, but there's plenty of "new age" fun to be had there as well.

What we'd like to do is a 3-4 days trip. I think on the first day, visit the gold country, then day at Yosemite, possibly a day of rafting and conclude on a day on a lake with water ski and jet skis. Accommodations can be anywhere in the area since we're hopping around.

Spend 1 day exploring the Flagstaff area by railway (to the Grand Canyon!). Then it's 3 days in Phoenix, topped of by one more day in Scottsdale. This fun trip includes time at the West World Extreme Pursuit Paintball, so it's a good one to take with family, especially if you have teenagers! 3 distinct Arizona cities!
