Trip Notes
| Covering this distance in four days requires a lot of driving, but you can certainly have some fun along the way. |
|
Day 1
Leave Topeka early this day, and head west towards Colby,KS. This will be a good place to have lunch and perhaps checkout Cooper Barn, which is said to be the largest in the state. Continue driving west headed for Denver. You can decide to stop sooner if you get tired, and sleep around Bennet, CO. Try to get close to Denver so that you have enough time for early morning sightseeing.

|
Day 2
Use the morning for some quick Denver sightseeing. I picked two attractions that are not too time consuming, yet still give the local "flavor."
Try to drive to Rock Springs, WY as your overnight location.

Day 3
Salt Lake is approx. 2 1/2 hours away from Rock Springs. You get into the city around 10 AM and do some sightseeing (suggestions listed). To keep on pace, try to reach Twin Falls, ID for the night, or even better to Boise. If you do get to Boise the last day will be an easier day.

|
Day 4
If you sleep in Boise, start early at the Eighth Street Marketplace, and then get on the road to Portland. This is a fairly long day's drive.
If you shift the trip dates, keep in mind Portland has a great market on Saturdays.
