Alaska Family RV Trip - Sumer 2007
This is a great RV trip to Alaska, two families with young kids. We started in Anchorage and drove through the main point of interests of the Southbound: Anchorage, Seward, Copper Landing, Kenai, Homer and Portage. We had tons of fun and the weather was great. Seward cruise is a must ! It is a full-day cruise that takes you into Kenai Fjords National Park and to the Chiswell Islands National Wildlife Refuge. We were lucky to watch a family of Orcas for more than 10 min an Humpback Whale and amazing birds. Also the kids really loved the dog sled ride and learned a lot about Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race (maybe we will do it one day:). To save time we took the ferry from Whittier to Valdez, it was a bit expensive but worth it. The scenery along Richardson Highway is breathtaking. It is about 2 hours from Valdez and we passed Glennallen, Thompson Pass and just enjoyed some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. This trip is just a perfect summer vacation for families who enjoy nature.
