Scottsdale, named after Major Winfield Scott, was founded on February 26, 1910. The city since then has preserved its Western roots while becoming one of the fastest growing cities in Arizona. Visitors come from around the world for a glimpse of Western memorabilia combined with elegant dining, hotels and shopping. The city is now divided into three distinct parts.

Old Town Scottsdale Old Town includes the older Scottsdale area that extends from Thomas to Camelback on Scottsdale Road. Western stores like Saba's Western Wear , have become staples here, along with upscale restaurants and Fifth Avenue's art district, which boasts artists from around the world who come to display their art in some of the most popular galleries in the West.

Old Town is also the home of the annual Parada del Sol Parade , which features some of the most beautiful livestock in the West, Scottsdale civic group floats and food and fun for the whole family. This parade has become a popular yearly event and takes place in February. This area is also the home of another time-honored tradition, spring training.

By Carrollmead
7 days
6 Beautiful Women traveling to Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona. This 7-Day trip is for women only! Not only do they get pampered at spas, go shopping at the Biltmore Fashion Park, and enjoy lively nightlife in Phoenix, but then they head to Scottsdale for Hummer & Jeep rides, shootouts at Western Town, and hang out in the evenings at places like E4 and Martini Ranch. This is a magnificent Girlfriend's get together!

This extensive 8-Day trip to Scottsdale allows you the time to fully explore this "western town". Sure, you'll go to museums and studios, but you'll also hit the "trail" in Jeep & Hummer tours. Plus, you'll enjoy the Paradise Valley Jazz Festival, a 2-day event held every April.

Went to Fashion Square Mall---variety of shops from high end like Gucci and Louis Vuitton to everything else in between.
We went to Olive and Ivy for drinks, then to Pink Taco and onward to the new W Hotel rooftop club! Definitely THE place to be in Scottsdale...
