Adding one day each for travel to & back leaves 7 glorious days in Costa Rica! This is a perfect trip for friends to take because splitting the costs of hotel rooms, and the affordable food prices there can accommodate varying budgets from tight to liberal. Plus, by hiring a personal driver to take you to the different parts of Costa Rica, you remove the worry of car rentals, taxi expense.

Costa Rica is a nature lover's playground, we had a 12 days trip. Must see: Arenal Costa Rica's most significant volcano, Tabacon (unique SPA), Monteverde cloud forest (try the bridges and SkyWalk). night tour to see the amazing Tortugas in Tamarindo beach. Costa Rica has a wealth of natural diversity and wildlife and we did see lots of frogs, iguanas, plenty of monkeys (capuchin and red squirrel), sloths, toucans and even the quetzal

    * Manuel Antonio is a bit overrated

What a fun trip! It wasn't too rainy and it was warm. I recommend getting a personal driver to take you to different cities. We split the cost and it was definately affordable. I don't know how someone could navigate through those roads!

This was a great trip. Tons of things to do and nice to get away at the same time. We did so many outdoor things like hang gliding, zip lining, visited the arenal volacno, swamp boat ride, and dipped in the hot springs! We stayed at the Tiujana Hotel and that was great. The people were all nice and friendly everywhere we went. As far as beaches are concerned Jaco beach which is the only one we went to was not really that pretty but overall the trip was a great one.
    Top Costa Rica Picks:
    Arenal Volcano

I've been here a couple of times and I just love everything about it, from the natural hot springs, active volcanos and lush jungles to gorgeous beaches and wonderfully kind people...not to mention its comparatively low costs vs. Europe
